He is survived by: his wife Mary Squires; his children, Dr. Lewis Squires (Wanda), Russell Squires (Betsy), Robert Jr. Squires (Judy), Roberta Pyrett (Mike), Michael Squires (Jennifer), Sheila Towson (Dan), Peggy Jones (Dan), Cindy Nguyen (Nokk), Linda Bentley, Lori Platz (Ted) and Penny Brown (Jermaine); his brother Arthur Squires; his sisters-in-law, Zona Squires and Helen Squires; and his daughter Leona VanBuskirk. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
