He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Stanley Smart and Lena Smart (Plotts); his children, Lesley Hatchew (Josh) of Rodney, Dana DePree (Shawn) of Big Rapids and Mike Smart (Maggie) of Big Rapids; his former wife Laura Kruger (Herman); and his grandson Zachary Michael Sutton. He was also cherished by 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, 6 siblings; and several nieces and nephews.
