It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merie G. Almas (Big Rapids, Michigan), born in Morley, Michigan, who passed away on December 26, 2018, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Thurston and Louis Thurston (Wilson); her husband Charles Almas; her son Randy Almas; and her grandson Jeffrey McIntyre.
She is survived by: her close friend Sheldon Snyder of Morley; her children, Susanne Merie McIntyre (Gary) of Morley and Steven Almas (Dianna) of Morley; her daughter-in-law Linda Almas of Morley; her grandchildren, Michele Steiner (Karl), Robert McIntyre, Garylynn McIntyre (Jayne), Michael Almas, Pamela Martin (Chris), CanDeta Lyons (Rick) and Steven II Almas (Angela); her sister-in-law Katie Thurston of Sand Lake; and her pet Annie. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
