He was predeceased by: his parents, Irven H. Gerst and Mabel V. Gerst (Allen); and his brother Lyle. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Jean Bushre; his son Jimmie Gerst Jr. (Alice) of Big Rapids; his grandchildren, Jimmie Dean Gerst (Jennifer) of Big Rapids, Jacklyn Hollenbeck (A. J.) of Canadian Lakes and Jessica Gerst of Big Rapids; his great grandchildren, Lucas, Kyle Hollenbeck and Quentin Dolbee; and his siblings, Katherine Weaver (Dave) of Goodells, Janet Dexter (Alfred) of Chippewa Lake, Walter Gerst (Joanne) of Big Rapids and John Gerst (Sherri) of Reed City. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
