He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Derby and Louise Derby (Cramer); his son Edward Derby; and his former wife Audrey Orr Derby. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Derby of Big Rapids; his children, Kay Derby of Garden City and Dennis Derby (Heather Foster) of Big Rapids; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Derby of Rockford; his stepson David Bouman of Colorado; his stepson-in-law Steve Venema of White Cloud; his grandchildren, Caitlin Rassmusen, Hailey, Lauren Ladner, Joshua and Megan Derby; his stepgrandchildren, Alyssa, Sam Venema and Mahaila Bouman; and his brother Howard Rollo Derby (Carol) of Marshall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
