He is survived by: his parents, John D. and Gladys Jean DeWitt; his friend Emiline Reifsnyder; his brother Mitchell John DeWitt; and his uncle Richard F. DeWitt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army – Flint Citadel or to St. Mary Cathedral, Lansing.
