He was predeceased by: his parents, Matt Feelis and Heidi Marie Akkala (Joensuu); his wives, Olive and Jane; his daughter Julie Bartels; and his brothers, John and Walter.
He is survived by: his son William Akkala; and his grandchildren, Julia, Lonnie, Steven, Jacqueline and Jo Anna. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
