Janet L. Havel Obituary
We bid farewell to Janet L. Havel of Big Bay, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 18, 2025 at the age of 96. Janet touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Meyers and Margaret Meyers (Philipps); her husband Edward Havel Sr.; her sons, James Havel, Michael Havel Sr. and Edward Havel Jr.; and her siblings, Elaine Anderson, Elwood Meyers, Glenn Meyers, Loren Meyers and Robert Meyers.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Lois Kay Havel; her grandchildren, Brad Havel (Becky), Lori Durand (Tom), Tasha Havel, Lindsey Havel (John Wright), Michael Havel Jr. (Amy), Lucas Havel (Jessica) and Chris Havel (Amy); her great grandchildren, Tucker, Tanner Havel, Emersyn, Payton Nelson, Austin, Alex Durand, Reid Grobar, Carson, Jack Ingersoll, Maddy Wright, Eli, Addison Havel, Boden, Roscoe, Bailey Havel, Alexis, Camila Tierrablanca, Zoie, Nolan, Margaret and Olivia Havel; her great great grandchildren, Brynlee and Brantley Foress; and her sisters-in-law, Pat Meyers and Jesse Meyers. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (305 Bensinger St, Big Bay, MI 49808). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Powell Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Camp UPeninsulin (a summer camp for Type 1 Diabetic youth) or to Bay Cliff Health Camp.
