He was predeceased by: his father Francisco Ruiz; his wife Armindina Ugaz Ruiz; and his daughter Martha Plasencia. He is survived by: his children, Maria Malca of Chicago, Ruth Benko (Vlatko) of Berrien Springs and Samuel Ruiz (Miriam) of Berrien Springs; and his brother Francisco Ruiz of Peru. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
