He is survived by: his former wife Vivian Alonso; his children, Jorge A. Suarez (Lori) and Vivian E. Steenbeke (Joseph); his grandchildren, Andrew J. Suarez, Nicholas P. Suarez, Victoria E. Steenbeke and Matthew J. Steenbeke; his sister Maria Sust; and his nieces and nephews, Cris, Michael and Jeff.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Cancer Research Institute.
