We are sad to announce that on August 11, 2023, at the age of 89, Ruby Carpenter of Benton Harbor, Michigan, born in Tupelo, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hiram Miller and Willie Miller (Nolan); her husband Archie, Sr.; and her sister Mary Christine Smith. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Carpenter Grier of Benton Harbor and Archie Cevel Carpenter, Jr. (Bernadette) of St. Joseph, MI; her grandson Alvin V Grier (Lajuan); her great grandchildren, Alexandria and Alvin Grier, II of Oak Park, MI; her niece Mary Elizabeth Neal; her siblings-in-law, Mary, Blenda and Willie Burns; and her close friends, Rosie Starling, Rosie Rivers and Brenda Phillips.
