He was predeceased by: his son Carl Hudson; his granddaughter Judwonder Hudson; his parents, John Hudson and Nora Hudson; and his siblings, Florette Hudson Parker, Mary Evelyn Hudson, Vera "PeeWee" Hudson Herrion, Omia Jean Hudson, Joyce Nell Hudson Butler, John Louis, Willie, Charles, Calvin and Kenneth Hudson.

He is survived by: his wife Rosie McCoy Hudson; his children, Janice Lilly (Ray), Charlene Hudson, Stephanie Renee Wheeler (James), Debra Hudson and Dennis Hudson (Marilyn); his nephew Sam Hudson; his godchildren, Diana Wright (Joe), Rhonda Calahan, Kim Hawthorn, Shaniqua Smith, John Mabins and Ernest Phillips; his son-in-law Gary Robertson; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hudson and Gloria Hudson.
