It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarence Potts Jr. (Benton Harbor, Michigan), born in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Potts Sr. and Viola Daniels; his wife Stacey Carter-Potts; his stepfather Gus Daniels; his children, Roderick Potts and Sherry Guyton; his sisters, Ora Daniels and Diana Plunkett; his aunts and uncles, Oleatha Walls, Lulamae Albert, Thonia Harris, Jessie Mae Wilson, James Glespie, Willie Glespie, Joe McGee and Jack McGee; his siblings-in-law, Brenda Daniels, Steve Plunkett and Lewis Clayborn; and his nieces, Cherece Sims and Lorriane Dzick.
He is survived by: his parent-in-law L. V. White; his children, Dielista Wright (John) of Ponchatoula, Ashley Potts of Benton Harbor, MI, Clarence Potts III of Louisville, Omarion Potts of Cleveland, Ohio., Jonathan Guyton, Ximena Suggs, Angel Guyton, Kelly Ferguson and Myquele Ferguson; his grandchildren, Tricia Wright, John Wright III, Erionna Floyd, Eric Floyd Jr., Erinn Floyd, Joziah Potts, Jamarion Potts, Clarence Potts IV, Trinity Potts, Nevaeh Spence, Jaylen Ferguson, Lashon Stoutmiles and Cortez White; his great grandchild Calem Collins; and his siblings, Elnora Clayborn (Lewis) of Benton Harbor, Renee Potts of Cleveland Ohio, Jessie Daniels (Angie) and Pervis Daniels (Wana) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin..
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Second Baptist Church (600 Donald Adkins Dr, Benton Harbor, MI 49022). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Crystal Springs Cemetery (1655 E Napier Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022).
