He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Shelby and Elizabeth Bryson-Beene; his uncle Liberty Peyton; his aunt Lillian Peyton; his brothers, Riney Bryson, Carl Shelby and Earnest Shelby; his siblings-in-law, James Richard DeFoe, Richard A. DeFoe and Jean DeFoe (Mary R. DeFoe); and his father-in-law Richard DeFoe.
He is survived by: his former wife LaVonne Hutchin; his children, Glenn Shelby, Debra Shelby, Shawn Shelby and Todd Clark; his sisters-in-law, Antoinette DeFoe, Sue DeFoe and Deborah DeFoe; his grandchildren, Anthony Marsh, Monta Tutson, Shanesha Polk, Semmie McCoy, Alecia Shelby, Ashley Shelby, Glenn Shelby and Charles Shelby; and his niece Connie Hobbs. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
