She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Johnny Lee Murphy; her mother Annie "Ann" Collins; her siblings, James Lee Smith, Tony Lee Smith, Barbara Denise Smith and Mattie Lee Smith; her father Clay Smith; her grandchildren, Marqueese and Aniyah; her close friend Sarah Mae Ross-Williams; her children, Zanika Gooden (Aviance), Kimberly Johnson (Antonio Sr.), Angel Spurlock of Benton Harbor, MI and Napoleon Smith (Ashley) of Sturgis, MI; her siblings, Louise Collins-Herrera (Pablo) of Chicago, IL, Shirley Smith of Indianapolis, IN, Bunnita Smith of Benton Harbor, MI and Danny "Ricky" Smith of Los Angeles, CA; her grandchildren, Jason Jr., Jujuan Jr., Lichelle, DeKori, Ashley, Antonio Jr., Aaliyah, Aquavion, Antoinette, Jaysean, Jermiah, Saniyah, Napoleon III and Ralfell Jr.; her aunts and uncles, Jeanine Moore, Emma Taylor (LZ), Ella Randolph (George), Joe Diggs, Josephine Davis (George), Ethel Joiner, Betty Coleman and Morris Coleman (Ann); and her close friend Tommy Hipps. She was also cherished by nieces and nephews, and great grandchildren and friends.
