She was predeceased by: her parents, John Sykes and Anna Martin (Penson); her husband Theo Kimble Jr.; her sisters, Rita Wagner and Constance Jones; her sisters-in-law, Madie Clifton and Catherine Jones; her daughter Betty Morris; her granddaughter Tomella Morris; her nephew Keli I. A. Wade; her cousin Ruby Dudley; and her close friend Linnie Mae Hegler.

She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Barr and Kim Griffin; her grandchildren, Ashley Morris, Ali Morris and Karletta Griffin; her nieces and nephews, Brenda Wade, Janel Oliver, Gamina Oliver, Geronica Burton, Johnny Baker III (Terri) and Keith Baker (Jacklin Kirkland); her great-niece Mildred Robinson; and her close friends, Les, Dorothy Golliday and Josephine Smith.
