He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Kevin Heim, Kelly Thurkettle and DeJay Johnson (Kurt); his grandchildren, Laura Johnson Morris, Matt Johnson (Kaitlin), Mike Johnson, Joe Johnson (Claire), Kodi Heim, Jacob Thurkettle, Alex Thurkettle and Chase Morris; his great grandchildren, Lincoln Morris, Hazel Morris, Tilia Johnson, Melody Heim and Desmond Johnson; his siblings, Sandy Cudney and Pat Joustra (Dave); his siblings-in-law, Gloria, Bill Neal, Dianna and Jerry Edwards; and his close friend Don Wackerle.
