He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Petty and Sylvia "June" Petty (Hurley); and his brother Walter Petty. He is survived by: his wife Sondra Lee Madry; his children, Joyce Wesner of Augusta, MI, Jerry Petty-Hammond (Krista) of Battle Creek, Cathy Pierce of Jackson, MI, Chad Petty of Grand Rapids, Ty Petty of Dallas, TX and Keith Petty (Lindsey) of Graham, WA; and his siblings, Rev. Eric Petty of New Port, Vernon Petty (Julie) of Akron, OH and Charlotte Bell (John) of Davison, MI. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
