He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ernst and Margaret Ernst (Edmondson); and his brother Bill Ernst. He is survived by: his siblings, Katherine "Kathy" E. Blanchard (Dale), Karen Foster Sharon (Dave), Karl Ernst (Barb) and Ron Ernst. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation or St. Paul Lutheran Church of Battle Creek, Michigan.
