He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Peterson and Leona Peterson (Peasley). He is survived by: his wife Velma; and his children, Faye Hudson, Ann Lillie, Mary Roerig, Valerie Ray and Randy Peterson. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
