She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerome Benham and Margaret Elizabeth Phelps (Wall); her husband Lester "Larry" Powell; and her brothers, Jerome Jr. Phelps and Earl Franklin Phelps.

She is survived by: her cousin Olive Phelps; her sons, Brian Lester Powell and Douglas Jerome Powell; her grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Powell, Somerset Mavunga, Amanda Sue Powell, Jessica Marie Powell and Dillion Mavunga; her brothers, Herbert Lynn Phelps (Diane) and Glenn Allen Phelps (Denise); and her brothers-in-law, Darwin Powell (Judy) and Dick Sorenson (Jackie).

Memorial contributions may be given to the activities fund at Mission Point of Belding.
