He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Haney and Violet Haney (Jenks); his wife Patricia; his siblings, Beatrice Haney Hawkins, Melvin Haney and Loren Dale Haney; and his stepgranddaughter Mariah Beech.

He is survived by: his children, Shelva Jean Smith of Greenville, Brenda Hill (Chris) of Ionia, Marvin Michael Haney of Ionia, Herman Daniel Haney (Jackie) of Orleans, Timothy Haney (Tracie) of Ionia and Tricia Montero (Samuel) of Ionia; his stepsons, Benjamin Beech of Rockford and Travis Beech of Greenville; and also John Brooks. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
