He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Potter and Dorothy Potter (Rodell). He is survived by: his wife Jeri; his children, Jason Potter of Belding, Erin Hager (Shawn) of Caledonia, Brynn Sexton (Dane) of Ada and David Chase of Charlotte, NC.; his grandchildren, Owen, Aiden, Gracyn, Mattie and Matthew; and his sibling Jerry Potter (Pat) of Grand Rapids.

Memorial contributions may be given to Farm Aid, (an organization formed to help sustain small family owned farms).
