He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Turpen and Marie Turpen (Hubbard); his wife Barbara Ann Scott; his daughter Denise Bentley; and his brothers, Robert Turpen and William Turpen.

He is survived by: his children, Deborah Whittier (John) of Chesaning, MI and Michael Turpen (Kaye) of Solsberry, IN; and his siblings-in-law, Polly Turpen, Gloria Elliot and Donnie Scott (Connie). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
