He was predeceased by: his mother Helen King (Hayes); his sister Laura King Wood; and his uncle Sammy. He is survived by: his father James Earl King Sr.; his girlfriend Valarie Villarreal; his children, Jamie King (Ray) and James King; his grandchildren, Ray Jones III and Eluna King; his sister Joan Johnson; his aunt Linda (Melton); his uncle David Hayes; his nephew James Wood; and his niece Kamie Wood.
