He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Sr. Harvey and Mary Harvey (Moore); and his brothers, Alvin Jr., Robert and Keith.

He is survived by: his wife Paula Emert; his children, James Lee Geer (Suzie), Michael Scott Geer, Travis Paul Geer (April) and Helen Alene Harvey (Alex); his grandchildren, Chanse, Lexi, Isabella, Mathias, Hunter and Kaleb; his siblings, Rosemary, David and Brian; his niece Angie; and his nephew Tyler.
