He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James W. Gallagher and Theresa M. Gallagher (Boyle); his wife Delores Marie Gallagher (Dee); his sister Eleanor McDonough; his brother-in-law Richie O'Donnell; his children, James William Gallagher and Kathryn Hope McQuay (Rick); his granddaughters, Erin Hill (Cameron), Brenna McQuay, Danielle Ludwick (Tommy), Sarah McQuay and Kaecee Gallagher; his sister Janet O'Donnell; and his brother-in-law Glen McDonough.

In his memory, donations can be made to BoysTown, a group he supported for many years.
