He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Bowling and Emma May Bowling (Edmondson); and his brothers, Gene Bowling and Ronald Bowling. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Yankee (Stuart) of Holland, Vern Bowling Jr. (Jennifer) of Traverse City and Brian Bowling (Vicki) of Blue Springs, Missouri; his siblings, Carolyn Hospenthal (Frank), Larry Bowling (Carol), Sandra Bowling, Wayne Bowling (Sue) and Marilyn Kaczanowski (Paul); his sisters-in-law, Marge Bowling and Barbara Bowling; his girlfriend JoAnn Krus of Bear Lake; and his girlfriend's children, Joseph, Daniel, Brian and Lynne Krus. He is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting memorial contributions may be made to the Manistee Elks Lodge #250 or to The Grand Traverse Pavilions.
