With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ellen Metiva of Bear Lake, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 11, 2025 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Ellen Metiva to pay them a last tribute.
Though Mary Ellen may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mary Ellen touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cordon Crosby and Mildred Crosby (Ross); and her husband Jack Metiva. She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Kercher (Mark), Dru Metiva (Colleen), Karen Marker (Ron), Susan Eason (Dan) and Bob Metiva (Joni). She is also survived by many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the Sorenson Lockwood Funeral Home, Inc. (1108 W North Down River Rd, Grayling, MI 49738).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mary Ellen to St. Judes Children's Hospital and the Shriners Hospital for Children.
