He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Krist and Virginia Krist (Hofsess); his sister Barbara Ramp; and his sister-in-law Robin Krist. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Krist; his children, Jaclyn Newman (Jeff) and Travis Krist (Alice); his grandchildren, Emma, Sarah, Laura, Gracie and Ryan; his brothers, William Krist (Donna) and Greg Krist; his siblings-in-law, Sandra Whetstone, Claudia Lindsey and Jim Lindsey; and his pets, Ryder, Elllie and Sully. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jim to Ausable Valley Animal Shelter in Grayling, MI.
