He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Ertel and Eleanor "Mickey" Ertel (McVey); and his brother Lynn. He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his sons, Joshua Ertel of Lebanon, OH and Jeremy Ertel of Bear Lake, MI; and his granddaughter Maizie Ertel of Lebanon, OH. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
