Ronald R. Grocholski Obituary
Ronald R. Grocholski, known affectionately as Ron, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, in Bay City, Michigan, at the age of 87. Born on September 21, 1937, in Kawkawlin, Michigan, he was a son to the late Joseph and Anna (Szeszulski) Grocholski and a loving brother to Donald Grocholski, who preceded him in death.
Ron was a devoted husband to his wife, Donna (Combs) Grocholski, with whom he shared a life full of love and cherished memories. Together, they raised a family that includes their children Robert (Maureen) Grocholski, Suzanne (Dave) Boswell, and Richard (Patrice) Grocholski. He was a proud grandfather to Joseph and Nathan Grocholski, Elizabeth (James) Guiette, Samantha and Bryan Boswell, and Ruby Koehler. Ron also leaves behind his beloved niece Cheri Holm, sisters-in-law Elaine Klosowski, Patricia (Bill) Jonsson, and Lela Combs, as well as his brother-in-law Dean (Linda) Combs. His family will forever remember him as a pillar of strength, support, and generosity.
Ron's work ethic was evident through his dedicated service at Bay City Chevrolet, where he worked for 31 years as a laborer and truck driver in the maintenance department before retiring. His commitment to his craft was matched only by his involvement with his coworkers and the community he served.
A man of many interests, Ron cherished the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, with a particular fondness for ice fishing. His love for travel took him cross country, experiencing the vast beauty of the United States, often in conjunction with his passion for antique car shows. Ron had a knack for handy work, which he expressed through home building and remodeling. He was always willing to lend a hand, whether it was raking leaves or shoveling snow for his neighbors.
Ron's creativity and generosity knew no bounds. He had a unique hobby of crafting two-dollar suits and quarter-pounders with cheese, which he would give away as gifts on birthdays or simply to brighten someone's day. His kindness and friendly nature were a beacon of light to all who knew him.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Ron would describe him as generous, friendly, and incredibly handy. He was a man who could fix anything and was always available to help a friend in need. His presence brought comfort and joy to his family and friends, and his legacy of kindness and service will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald, his niece Ann Voss, sisters-in-law Lorraine Engel and Mary Finley, and brothers-in-law Charles and Richard Combs, and Ray Klosowski. His life was a testament to the love and dedication he had for his family and the community.
As we say goodbye to Ronald R. Grocholski, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of purpose and love. Ron's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and laughter he shared with everyone around him. He was truly one of a kind, and his absence will be felt deeply by all.
