He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Mielens and Bernice Mielens (Felske); his brothers, Frederick (Evelyn) and Warren Mielens; his granddaughter Hannah Mielens; his parents-in-law, Kenneth Zube and Maxine Barbeau (Bernard); and his sisters-in-law, Sally Zube, Sandy Sorenson (Ralph) and Joan Mackal.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy A. Zube; his children, Michael Mielens (Wendy), David Mielens and Lisa Monville (Tim); his grandchildren, Ethan Mielens (Jess), Quinn Mielens, Austin Monville (Lindsay) and Casey Monville (Natasha); and his in-laws, Ronald Zube, Robert Zube, Sue Hadd, Tom Barbeau (Pat), Bill Barbeau, Joe Barbeau (Diane), Marianne Koerber (Kal) and Matthew Barbeau (Dayna).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Squires Funeral Home (211 N Henry St, Bay City, MI 48706). A vigil service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Church (1000 S Wenona St, Bay City, MI 48706). The military honors will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery (2000 Columbus Ave, Bay City, MI 48708).
