He is survived by: his children, Ruth Lehenbauer (Walter), Elizabeth O'Meara (Edward), Claudia Weesner and William Plaehn (Marla); his grandchildren, Ethan, Megan, Katelyn and Aidan; his great grandchildren, Melissa, Deanna, Shayne, Lorelai and Corey; his sister-in-law Janet Schroeder; his family Jaelynn; and his caregiver Leia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
