He was predeceased by: his siblings, Kathryn Matyasic, Mary Jurisic (Tony), John Matyasic (Josephine) and Tony Matyasic (Lena). He is survived by: his wife Jan; his children, Michael Matyasic of Laingsburg, MI and Ann Ross (Brad) of Lake Orion, MI; and his grandchildren, Savahanna Matyasic, Sydney McClung (Geoff) and Connor Ross. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care (105 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017). A rosary was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (61 N 23rd St, Battle Creek, MI 49015).
Walt was an active member of St. Jospeh Catholic Church, donating his time, energy, and skills to ensure the success of many fundraising projects like Superfest over the years.
