He was predeceased by: his parents, George Murphy and Lillian Murphy (Eichelberger); and his sisters, Sharon, Jo and Dorothy.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Murphy (Mindy) and Pamela Murphy; his grandchildren, Nicholas Murphy (Amanda), Ryan Murphy (DeAnna) and Michael Nicholas; and his stepchildren, Christy Schafer and William Bolton. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service (223 Bedford Rd N, Battle Creek, MI 49037).
