He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Amundson and Ida Ruth Amundson (Kramer); and his siblings, Charles Willis Amundson (Edith), Benjamin A. Amundson (Judy), Lawrence Eugene Amundson, Robert Amundson, Mary Gale Cunnion (Frank) and Patricia Luren (Martin).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Julie Weighman (Dave), John Jr. Amundson (Beth), Mary Amundson-Brinkman (James), Lizbeth Amundson (Darrell Price) and Karen Amundson-Gallegos (Steve); his grandchildren, Joseph Amundson (Emilie), Carly Koppit, Johna Robinson, Molly Bouchard, Tina Amundson, John Amundson III, Major Phillip Cole (Janice), Chelsea Jackman (Andrew), A. Marie and Kaela Amundson; and his great grandchildren, Trenton Amundson, Lillian Amundson, Landen Bouchard, Miles Robinson, Levi Robinson, Joe Koppit, Abraham Koppit, Zoe Cole, Henry Cole, Stone Jackman and Samual Jackman.
A memorial service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kalamazoo Aviation History Museum.
