It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Esmer French (Battle Creek, Michigan), born in Berea, Kentucky, who passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandchildren, Steven Mapes Arrendondo and Lacy Hamilton; and his son-in-law Steve W. Mapes (Emma Lee French). He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Mapes, Amy Hinton and Julie Wright; and his grandchildren, Alisa Cronkite (Chris), Emily Mapes (Neko), Amanda Mapes (Jared), Daniel Mapes (Alexandria), Torren Mapes, Taiyah Mapes, Lauren Hinton, Natalie Aguilar (Sal) and Matthew Wright.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Battle Creek Tabernacle Church (264 W Michigan Ave, Battle Creek, MI 49037). A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Battle Creek Academy in Esmer's honor.
