It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorene Louise Smith of Battle Creek, Michigan, born in Marshall, Michigan, who passed away on September 15, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Lawson and Nellie Louise Ross (Spillane); her husband Michael Jerry Smith; and her sister Jackie Healey. She is survived by: her children, Penny Wood-Smith (Doug), Michael Smith (Tammy) and Christie Smith; her grandchildren, Brooks, Meghan (Jeremy Allison), Brennan (Hollee), Paige (Alex), Mike Wood and Jenny White (Dan); her great grandchildren, Brynlee, Abraham, Drake, Weslee, Sawyer, Morgan and Matthew; her brother Chuck Ross (Marge); and her siblings-in-law, Tom Cobb, Rick Smith (Lrenda) and Cathy Erskine (Todd). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 28th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wild Mike's (22575 Bedford Rd N, Battle Creek, MI 49017).
