He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy; and his parents, Joseph Madeline and Anna Madeline. He is survived by: his brothers, Joseph "Merle" Caretti (Jean) of St. Benedict and Kenneth Caretti (Rita) of Ebensburg; his friend Joann Katona of Barton City; and also Robert. He is also survived by five grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
