It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell Gale Torpey of Barryton, Michigan, born in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, who passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Torpey, and Reita Torpey, Sr. (Harrison); his siblings, Onalee, Leo Torpey, Jr., Bonnie Bauder (Donal "Scuff"), Richard "Dicky" Torpey and Shelby Kenny; and his brother-in-law Jim Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Torpey; his children, Kelley Harnish (David) of Allegan and Tim Torpey (Charity) of Barryton; his grandchildren, Benjamin Harnish (Delaney) of Barryton, Cody Torpey of Barryton and Bailey Torpey of Barryton; his sisters, Elouise Wilson of Mt. Pleasant and Elda Clark of Boynton Beach, FL; and his siblings-in-law, Don Kenny of Shepherd and Lucille Torpey of Flint. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
