He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Nelson and Eleanor Nelson (Houghton); his parents-in-law, Merl Kerr and Blanch Kerr; the mother of his children Beverly Nelson; his wife Rose Nelson; his sons, Randy and Sandy Nelson; his brothers-in-law, David Cotter and Richard Kerr; his son David; and his granddaughter Carrie Nelson.
He is survived by: his sister Lorreta Cotter; his children, Trudy Palus (Joe), Vicky Nelson and Marty Nelson; and his grandchildren, Josh Palus (Karon), Jeremy Palus (Amy), Jason Palus, Janelle Crumbaugh (Matt), Justina Crumbaugh (Dusty), Justin Palus (Britney), Jared Palus, Chris Wooley (Sarah), Cliffton Dershem (Casey), Luke Chapko (Rachael), Todd Miller (Jessica), Jordan Groulx (Samantha), Heather Nelson, Chelsie Nelson, Jonathan Welter, Randy Nelson, Brandon Todd (Stephanie), AJ Mead, Patrick VanLuven (Bobbijane), Tiras Fowler (Rashell) and Tasha Davenport. He is also survived by 5 nephews.
