He was predeceased by: his parents, Phoebe Dagenais and Elmer Dagenais; his son Gary A. Dagenais; his grandson Spencer Dagenais; his siblings, Marlene Dagenais, Dennis Wendt and Wayne Dagenais; and his sister-in-law Judith Dagenais.
He is survived by: his son-in-law Rob; his former wife Lois McIntyre (Yirsa); his daughter Terri Rodgers (Rob); his grandchildren, Joey and Logan Rodgers; his sisters, Sandye Dagenais and Jane Sarnowski; the mother of his children Lois Yirsa; his daughter Carrie Yirsa; and his close friend Bill Cramer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, private family funeral services were held.
Donations in Gary's honor can be made to the Delta Animal Shelter and the Escanaba Salvation Army.
