He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mathias and Rosenna Mathias (LeFeve); his brothers, Dennis Meintz, Warren Meintz, Bob Mathias, Carl Mathias, John Mathias Jr. and Ron Mathias; and his brothers-in-law, Don Mann, Allan Weber and Ray Moore.
He is survived by: his children, Angela Beauchamp (Ken) of Garden City, MI and Chuck Mathias (Christy) of Rapid River; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Nathan Beauchamp and Eleanore Mathias; his former wife Karen Bergstrom (Mark) of Bark River; his siblings, Lois Moore, Rosanne Weber, Joanne Mathias, Sharon Mathias, Cynthias Mann and David Mathias (Sharon); and his sisters-in-law, Janet Meintz, Sandy Mathias and Cheryl Mathias. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Delta County Cancer Alliance.
