“I served with Lee in H Co., 75th Rangers in 1970. Lee was a great guy and fun to be around. He was also a tough soldier who volunteered for a very dangerous duty - long range recon patrols. He was an excellent ranger and served our nation with honor and bravery. When I heard he and some other rangers were going to the 2020 reunion, I bought my plane ticket the next day. Unfortunately, the reunion was cancelled so I didn’t get to see Lee one last time. RIP, Lee Lou Bruchey”

“My sincere condolences for your loss. Although I didn't know Lee personally, I really know the type of person he was having served in the same unit but at a different time. Company H Rangers were top of the line as I'm sure he was. May the God of all peace grant you His peace during your time of grief. Blessings, George Richardson 1969”

Jerry Wood wrote a sympathy message

“So sorry for your loss. I know Lee will be missed. He was a great Ranger and did a great service to his family and nation. It takes incredible will and determination to become and serve as an Army Ranger and I am sure Lee carried those attributes thru out his life. Rest in Peace Brother, Jerry Wood”

Darrell Smith wrote a sympathy message

“I'm echoing Glen MCrary's message below. Glen, "Lee" and I were all among the young men and brothers in H Co Rangers after Lee and several other great Rangers transferred to H Company as veterans from the 1st Infantry's I Company Rangers when the 1st ID left Vietnam. I knew Lee to be a smart, tough, very capable and experienced Ranger warrior. We served on at least 2 missions together and were good friends. Rest easy, Brother! All my best to the family! -- Darrell Smith, Port Townsend, WA”

Darrell Smith wrote a comment

“Incidentally, this is an exceptional group of Airborne Rangers in this photo. The H/75 Ranger brothers pictured are, L to R: Jimmy Massengale; Greg Catherwood (I have Greg's camera - he's trying to show me where the photo button is); Lee himself; Hank Miller and the great Tim Harper. All here except Jimmy came to us from I Company Rangers with Lee.”

“My condolences to Lee's family. Lee's brothers from H Company 75th Ranger Regiment are just now learning of his passing. I was fortunate to have served with Lee while in Vietnam in 1970-1971. Lee was a fine soldier and friend and we are all better people for knowing him. Glen McCrary.”
