He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Garlinghouse and Elizabeth Garlinghouse (Pope); and his brother Jerry Garlinghouse. He is survived by: his wife Doris Garlinghouse (Long) of Barbeau, MI; his children, Deborah Mullin (Joe) of Petoskey, Barbara Hoskins (Mark) of Addison, Kathy Casey (Jim) of Sault Ste, Marie, Mark Garlinghouse (Lori) of Sault Ste and Luke Garlinghouse of Barbeau; his grandchildren, Sam Hoskins (Heather), Ken Hoskins (Alissa), Rob Hoskins (Ashley), Tom Mullin, Jake Mullin, Kris Murtha (Mel), Ryan Murtha (Jen), Jessica Cryderman (Travis), Tylor Garlinghouse (Courtney), Brandon Garlinghouse (Samantha) and Nick Garlinghouse (Jessica); his siblings, Leon Garlinghouse (Carol), Bradley Garlinghouse (Asnee) of Virginia, Donald Garlinghouse (Rita), Diane Cushman (Perry) of Pickford, Randy Garlinghouse (Adel) of Virginia, Bill Jones (Lisa) of Kincheloe and Tim Jones (Jill) of California; and his sister-in-law Ruby Garlinghouse (Marie Fred) of Sault Ste. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Rosedale Community Church or Tunnel to Towers.
