He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Straten and Gertrude Van Straten (Schmidt); his wife Lillian Juntunen (Lil); his children, Mary Mowry (Bill) of Lake Forest, IL, Sue Van Straten of Lake Worth, FL, Peter Van Straten (Diane) of Baraga and George Van Straten (Jill) of Chassell; his daughter-in-law Donna Van Straten of Negaunee; his grandchildren, Peter Landry (Susanah), Darragh Blachno (Arthur), Rachel Schiewe (Colin), Hannah Mowry, Chris Van Straten (Amber), Carmen Larson (TyIer), Jenna Kelly (Chris), Eric Van Straten (Autumn), Josh Van Straten (Caitlin), Taylor Swanson, Catherine Van Straten, Matt Carstens (Emily), Laura Carstens and Ashley Cody (Luke); his great grandchildren, Christian, Colton, Georgia, Tessa, Rylan, Rosalie, Tanner, Breigh, Nari, Daewon, Charlotte, Phoebe, Auggie, Sam, Scarlet, Michael and Melanie; his sister Mary Graef of Downey, CA.; his sons, Baby George and Michael Van Straten; and his sisters, Gertrude "Ann" LaFond and Martha Bruckbauer.
