He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Rushton Wingate Sr. and Ethel Veronica Williams Wingate; and his siblings, Reverend Olin Wingate Sr. of Ridge Springs, SC, Reverend James Lee Wingate of Windsor, SC, Tommy Fletcher Wingate of Luray, SC, Garnett Conyers and Katie Altman Jowers.
He is survived by: his wife Robin Wingate; his children, Emily and Mitchell; his sister Ethel Veronica Wingate Keller of Biloxi, MS; and his adoptive daughter Emily. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
