He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Bennett and Celesta J. Bennett (Merriman); his wife Elizabeth Bennett; and his siblings, Erwin, Loren Bennett, Beatrice Funk and Marian Farrell.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Nelson (Barry) of Hartford and Rob Bennett (Kathy) of South Haven; his grandchildren, Cal (Lyndsey), Matthew (Jacquelyn), Lauren Bennett (Mike), Chad Nelson (Julie) and Kate Nelson (Shane); and his great grandchildren, Simon and Sabrina.
