He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Taft Sr. and Lessie Mae Taft; and his siblings, Thelma Taft-Tyler, Willie Taft Jr. and Larry Taft-Bey.
He is survived by: his children, Leon Hasan and Danielle Hasan; his grandsons, Charlie Nelson McDaniels and Bradley Anthony McDaniels; and his sister Hazel Taft. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
